The Platte County Flag is displayed prominently in the Platte County Courthouse
COLUMBUS - While Nebraska celebrates its 150th birthday, the Platte County Flag celebrates a similar milestone. Just take out the zero. The Platte County Flag is celebrating 15 years of service, since first being hung up for display in February of 2002. The flag features 3 colored stripes, as well as, a layout of the state of Nebraska, with the county highlighted. The blue on the flag represents the sky, fresh air, and open spaces of Platte County, while the golf represents the blessings and successful business and people of the county. Specifically the golden harvests and the hearts of gold. The final color, green, represents the agricultural heritage of the county, says the flag's description. The flag was designed by Mary Sonderman. What do you think of the county flag? Did you know we had one? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
