Platte County Fair Is Underway

COLUMBUS - The 2018 Platte County Fair is fully underway in Columbus. After a few events took place on Monday and Tuesday, the wide scope of events and livestock showcases began Wednesday afternoon. Goats and sheep were among the animals showcased, and other events included a pie baking contest, show ’n tell, and a talent show. The carnival opened up later on Wednesday evening, and will be open every day of the fair through Sunday. This year’s festivities include a wide variety of events for all ages, including a bicycle rodeo, baby olympics, MWA wrestling, the band Scrap Metal, and plenty of livestock and exhibits for attendees to check out. A kid zone will also be available from 11 A.M. until 6 P.M. on Saturday, with many different activities for children of all ages. The fair will conclude this Sunday at 9 P.M.
