Plainview Man Pleads Guilty in Pliers Assault Case

PIERCE - A Northeast Nebraska man will be sentenced this fall after his guilty plea in a felony assault case involving a co-worker. Court records show that 34-year old Breygan Silva-Aguilar pleaded guilty to felony assault in Pierce County District Court last week as part of a plea deal. In return, prosecutors dropped a felony weapon charge. Law enforcement officials say Silva-Aguilar attacked a co-worker in Plainview with a pair of pliers, embedding the pliers into the victim’s skull. The victim was life-flighted to UNMC Hospital in Omaha for emergency surgery and survived the attack. Silva-Aguilar faces up to 20 years in prison when he's sentenced on October 25th.
