Pair of fires keep Otoe County officials busy Wednesday

Fire departments from Syracuse, Unadilla and Dunbar were on scene for two hour for a structure fire at 913 Midland St. in Syracuse at 8:30 Wednesday morning, according to Chief Craig Hemji. No injuries were reported and all individuals and animals in the house escaped safely before first responders arrived. Hemji says the starting point of the fire appeared to have started in the basement, but the investigation into the fire continues by the State Fire Marshal's office. Nebraska City Fire and Rescue faced a challenged with a grass fire near Riverview Marina State Park Campground early Wednesday afternoon. Access to the fire north of town, started by accident, handed officials access issues. No injuries were reported from the blaze. Follow Hunter on Twitter: @TheBurnRadio
