Ord Man Could Face More Than 100 Years In Prison

CUSTER COUNTY— The Ord man who was arrested on Tuesday, July 31 could face more than 100 years in prison if found guilty of all charges. Twenty-seven-year-old James R. Duncan, made his first appearance in Custer County Court on Monday August 6, after four different charges were filed against him regarding two Broken Bow armed robberies. Judge Tami Schendt read off the complaints against Duncan which included two separate charges of Robbery, a class II felony, and two charges of Use of a Firearm to commit a Felony, a class IC felony. If found guilty, Duncan could face the maximum sentence of more than 100 years, with a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in jail. The court appointed public defender Mike Borders as Duncan’s attorney and set a bond of 10% of $500,000. Duncan’s preliminary hearing has been set for Monday, August 20 at 3:30 P.M.
