One Man Arraigned And One Case Continued In Custer County Court

CUSTER COUNTY— Only two felony cases were on the docket for Custer County Court on Monday, November 19. Rusvel Chavez, 30 of Hastings, made his first appearance in court on possession of THC, a class IV felony, and possession of marijuana, more than one ounce but less than one pound, a class III misdemeanor. After Chavez was arraigned, he then elected to hire his own attorney. Judge Tami Schendt set the case for preliminary hearing on January 7, at 2 P.M.

Larry Bottorf Jr., 49 of Sargent, was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on alleged child abuse, strangulation, and 3rd degree assault. A written continuance was filed with the court and the case was continued until December 3 at 1:30 P.M.
