One Injured In Two-Vehicle Accident North Of Broken Bow

CUSTER COUNTY— A two-vehicle accident shut down the intersection of Airport Road and Paulsen Road just north of Broken Bow around 1 PM on Thursday, June 4. According to Custer County Deputy Sheriff Adam Miller, a white 2018 Dodge Durango, was traveling south on Airport Road when it was hit by a black 2007 Ford Fusion.

Miller said the Fusion was traveling west on Road 800 toward the Airport Rd. intersection when it failed to stop at the stop sign. The Fusion crossed the highway and hit the rear left corner of the Durango which caused the vehicle to travel out of control, impact the west bank, and roll onto its top.

The driver of the Durango was transported to Melham Medical Center with unknown injuries. The four occupants in the Fusion did not require transport to the hospital.

Miller also said that a power pole had suffered damage during the accident. Crews from the Broken Bow Utilities Dept. did evaluate the pole and noted that it was not a live line, but would require maintenance.

Miller stated that citations will be issued for the accident.

Broken Bow Fire and Rescue, Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Hunter’s Towing and Repair, and the Broken Bow Utilities Department responded to the accident.

If further details become available, a follow-up story will be released.
