ARNOLD—A Millbank, South Dakota man was pronounced dead on Tuesday after leaving the highway near Arnold. The truck driver went off road on Tuesday morning when he was driving on Highway 92. Steven Rodgers, 56, was heading west when his truck left the road and headed north approximately 300 feet before coming to a stop near mile marker 249.
According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the vehicle was upright on the side of the road and a witness reported that the man could be seen in between the driver and passenger seats.
It was determined to be medical reasons that caused Rodgers to leave the roadway. He was transported to a North Platte hospital where he was pronounced dead. Arnold Fire and Rescue and the CCSO were on the scene.
