OCONTO—The Oconto Fun Days Celebration will take place this weekend and a full day of fun is in store for all!
Friday: Mystery Scavenger Hunt 5:30 p.m., Outdoor Movie 9:45 p.m.
Saturday: Colton’s Crusaders “Super Hero” 5k Run/Walk in memory of Colton Eggleston at 8 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., $20 adults, $15 children, free t-shirt, contact Madiera Eggleston at 308-627-2192.
Also on Saturday: Homemade Ice Cream Social served by American Legion Auxiliary, Free lunch at community building provided by Oconto Boosters, Critter races at 1 p.m., Mini Golf, races, egg/balloon toss, ping pong ball drop at 2 p.m.
The “Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer” parade will take place at 11 a.m. and line-up begins at 10 a.m. at the school ball field. Contact Sandy Eggleston at 858-4400 or 858-4878.
Clifford Badgley said he has viewed the Oconto Fun Days parade only once because he has been in the parade nearly every year! “Parades are always a big thing; I don’t know what it is about a parade!” Badgley said.
The day will end with the alumni banquet at the community building at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m.
