NWS: What to do in a Tornado

The National Weather Service released tips on what to do and where to go if a tornado is headed for your home. The National Weather Service says to avoid top floors on multiple story homes,  stay out of exterior rooms on main levels, and avoid going outside. If you do not have a basement, find an interior room that does not have a window, or is surrounded by other rooms, says the NWS. If you have a basement, quickly move to a room in the basement and have an emergency supply kit on hand, says the NWS. There is a chance for Tornados for a majority of the state on Friday, with a Tornado Watch in effect until 11 p.m. The NWS also says apple size hail could be widespread throughout the central portion of the state.
