LINCOLN --- As heavy snow and ice get dumped on southeast Nebraska, the Nebraska State Patrol is warning people to either stay home or drive slow. NSP Trooper Jeff Rutan talked to NCN's Brandon Aksamit about conditions in Lincoln and what drivers need to do to stay safe. "If you can stay home, do it, if you have to travel watch your speed, leave enough following distance when a vehicle is in front of you and keep your cruise control off, that's probably the biggest thing," Trooper Rutan says. Three to five inches of snow has accumulated in parts of Nebraska, high winds of up to 45 miles per hour have also been reported.
