NPS Superintendent Honored at Labor Relations Conference

NORFOLK - The Superintendent of the Norfolk Public School district is being honored for being an advocate for public schools. Dr. Jami Jo Thompson was awarded the Baker-Gessford Award at the annual Labor Relations Conference last week in Lincoln. The award is given out annually by the Nebraska Council of School Administrators and Nebraska Association of School Boards to a school administrator that advocates for and applies laws that enhance educational opportunities. In her acceptance speech, Thompson stressed the importance of telling the stories of public schools to lawmakers, and underlining the struggles schools face, particularly as it relates to school finance.
