NORFOLK - Northeast Community College has a vacancy to fill on its governing board.
Board of Governors member Shirley Petsche of Petersburg resigned her post at the board meeting in Norfolk on Wednesday.
In her letter of resignation to the board, Petsche cited family obligations for stepping down.
Petsche was initially appointed to the board in 2010 and then was re-elected twice.
College officials say her resignation will be effective upon the appointment of her successor.
