Norfolk Native Killed in Lincoln Crash

LINCOLN - A Norfolk native has been killed and multiple others injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening. According to a Lincoln Police report, it happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday at the corner of South 10th Street and Arapahoe Avenue. According to the report, witnesses told police that a car traveling southbound at a high rate of speed collided with a westbound car attempting to turn. Police say 20-year old Tyler Butterfield of Norfolk was a passenger in the westbound vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Five others were hospitalized with what were called non-life-threatening injuries. Police say in the report that they suspect drug use on the part of the driver of the southbound vehicle. No arrests have been reported. Butterfield was a Norfolk High School graduate who was a member of the University of Nebraska Marching Band.
