Norfolk Man Killed in Accident South of Madison

MADISON, NE — A Norfolk man is dead after his vehicle collided with a semi on Wednesday morning.

Nebraska State Patrol Captain Paul Hattan says 35-year-old Bryan Hanley of Norfolk died when his pickup struck a semi truck from behind and subsequently caught on fire.  

Hattan says the accident happened at 4:39 AM at mile marker 140 of Highway 81 south of Madison.  The semi was southbound, fully loaded and traveling slowly.  Hanley’s truck hit the semi and burst into flames after impact.

It is unknown if seat belts were in use and the next of kin have been notified.  The accident was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol unit 122.
