Norfolk Man Arrested for Burglary After Hole Found in Wall of Norfolk Business

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man is accused of carving a hole in a Norfolk business in an effort to burglarize it. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer says 31-year old Jose Fitzgerald was arrested early Friday morning. Police were sent to a Norfolk pawn shop located on Philip Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Friday after the burglar alarm went off. Officers say the found a hole in the west wall of the building that could have been used to gain entry to the business. Police stopped Fitzgerald, who was seen walking away from the business, covered in dust and debris from the same location as the hole in the wall. Police didn't say if anything was taken. Fitzgerald was arrested on burglary charges and is housed in the Norfolk City Jail.
