Ninth Annual Bid-a-Bag Bonanza February 9

BROKEN BOW—The ninth annual Bid-a-Bag Bonanza is scheduled for Sunday, February 9 at 2 p.m. at Kinkaider Brewing Company (43860 Paulsen Rd, Broken Bow, NE 68822).

Invite your friends, carpool with your neighbors, and join the Broken Bow Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for a FUNdraiser that benefits the students and classrooms of the Broken Bow Public Schools.

Purses and “old bags” may be recycled but there is a surprise in every bag. KCNI/KBBN asked North Park Elementary fifth grade teacher Becki Dierking what is inside the various bags and she said it is a mystery!

“That’s the fun part about it because we just have the bag,” Dierking said. “Who knows what you might get! You might get some bath and body stuff, or you might get something to do with your grandchild or your children, or maybe something for you as a mom to just pamper yourself and enjoy. So you never know!”

Advanced tickets are available to purchase at North Park Elementary office.
Advanced tickets: $5.00
Limited at-the-door tickets: $5.00

Throughout the nine years of the Bid-a-Bag fundraiser thousands of dollars have been raised by auctioning bags and purses with a surprise in every one. The PTA collects the funds to be used to benefit the Broken Bow schools and special projects.

“All that money goes to support PTA and also then we give that money to the schools to help them with different projects that they have going on,” Dierking said.

Past projects have included computers for the elementary school, iPads, miscellaneous items for the libraries, teachers’ grants for things like flexible seating, etc., and other items for the classrooms.

Everyone is welcome to attend Sunday’s event to enjoy bidding on the bags, snacks, and supporting the Broken Bow PTA.

“We always appreciate the support of Broken Bow supporting everything PTA does for the schools,” Dierking said.
