New Tax Survey Puts Ricketts at Odds with Conservative Think Tank

Omaha, NE.—A new survey that finds Nebraskans willing to pay more sales taxes if it cuts their property tax bill, puts Governor Ricketts at odds with the conservative think tank he founded. With just a week to go before the election the Platte Institute says  61 percent of those responding to the survey said they " would be willing to pay more in other taxes in exchange for reforms to the property tax" Fifty-five percent said they "would prefer to pay more sales tax instead."
