BROKEN BOW–Ice cream and fresh fruit are now available at a new business in downtown Broken Bow. Juanito’s Neveria and fruteria celebrated its grand opening on June 3 and is located west of the city square on South D Street in the old Harmony Hut building.
Owner Juan Rodriguez said he has had dreams of opening the Mexican ice cream and treat shop for the last year and was excited to welcome patrons on Thursday afternoon to cool down with ice cream cones, banana splits, popsicles, fresh fruit, fruit drinks, smoothies, and other desserts.
Juanito also features popcorn, hot dogs, tortas, flavored waters, and other snacks and frozen treats.
Rodriguez told KCNI/KBBN the building (926 S D St, Broken Bow, NE 68822) went through numerous renovations before opening. He said the building was updated to accommodate coolers and food equipment and also underwent work to drop the ceiling, get new flooring, and updated plumbing.
Thursday’s grand opening saw many customers eager to try some tasty snacks. The store hours at Juanito are still being determined but Juan Rodriguez said he was glad to open in time for summer and hopes everyone will come out to enjoy some ice cream!
