NEBRASKAland DAYS Underway in 2022 as the Official State Celebration of Nebraska!

NORTH PLATTE–The official celebration of Nebraska–NEBRASKAland DAYS–is underway in North Platte for 2022 and will be welcoming some of the biggest artists of country music, hosting Miss Rodeo Nebraska, the Buffalo Bill Rodeo, and events for the whole family for nearly two weeks between June 12 and June 25.

Executive Director David Fudge has been part of the celebration for 18 years and told KCNI/KBBN the entire community of North Platte (the host of NEBRASKAland DAYS since 1968) comes together to prepare for the events that bring in visitors from all over the country.

“Everybody kind of comes together. North Platte kind of shines itself up for that 11 days and kind of puts its best foot forward, it’s fun to watch it all come together and be  a part of it in that way,” Fudge said.

The Viaero Summer Jam Concert Series is comprised of Tim McGraw on Friday, June 24 along with Chris Lane and King Calaway. Miranda Lambert will close the 2022 festival on Saturday, June 25 with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Belles.

Fudge said between all of the artists in just two nights, there are nine Grammy Awards up on stage. Grammy Award-winning entertainer Tim McGraw has not toured in multiple years so Fudge said he feels fortunate to bring him to North Platte, as well as ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert

“It’s a solid line up. We’re thrilled with it and then you put that in the middle of everything else we normally do and I think we’ve got a pretty good year again this year,” Fudge said.

Miss Rodeo Nebraska started on Sunday, June 12 with the coronation on June 15 at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo.

Between the rodeo and the concert series, activities for the entire family fill each day such as the competitive art show, golf,  quilt show, kids costume parade, games, sand castle building, youth bike rodeo, antique car parade, tennis, NEBRASKAland DAYS on Parade on Saturday, June 18 at 1 p.m., poker, Kids Fun Festival, mutton bustin’, Lincoln County Courthouse 100th Year Celebration on Wednesday, June 22, cowboy kickball, and more.

“You can eat your way through this thing!” Fudge added. Mouth-watering meals available during the beer gardens and food courts, cake bake decorating, BBQ pork sandwich feed, flapjack feed, and prime rib feed to name a few.

NEBRASKAland DAYS is made possible thanks to the help of volunteers, businesses, nonprofits, clubs, churches, and of course the individuals and families who make the trip to North Platte to take part in the celebration.
