BROKEN BOW— The Broken Bow Public Library along with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, is proud to host Nebraska State Poet Matt Mason on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30 PM.

Matt is based in Omaha and has published eight chapbooks, two full-length works of poetry, as well as two anthologies. He has written about fatherhood, relationships, religion and the Bible, and themes of Midwest and Great Plains life.

This award winning poet and slam poetry champion was installed as Nebraska State Poet in early 2019 by Gov. Pete Ricketts. The State Poet promotes and encourages appreciation of poetry and literary life in Nebraska while inspiring an emerging generation of new writers. Part of Mason’s goal while serving as State Poet is to present a public reading in all 93 counties of the state which includes Custer County.

This is a free event as Matt’s presentation is made possible with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. The Broken bow Library Foundation will provide cookies and coffee.
