Nebraska Woman Says Husband Was Trying to Kill Her

JEFFERSON COUNTY – Authorities in Jefferson County arrested a man on a number of charges last week, including kidnapping, strangulation, and false imprisonment. Just before 7 p.m. on Feb 16, authorities received a call from a female advising her husband was trying to kill her. The phone became disconnected, and deputies proceeded to the location from which the call was made. The front door was open, and the house looked like a struggle had ensued, authorities said in a press release. Just before 9 p.m., a white Chevy pickup was located coming back into the town of Reynolds from the south, and a traffic stop was initiated. A female and a male exited the vehicle, and the male, Michael Kendall, was detained and placed in handcuffs. The victim said Kendall had been drinking all day, and attacked her in the bathroom, assaulting and choking her. She was able to get outside and call the police, but Kendall grabbed her and forced her into the pickup. She was driven to Kansas, and after a while, Kendall decided to drive back and turn himself in. The victim has lumps on her head and face, cuts and scratches on her neck and chest, and red marks on her neck, police said. Kendall lodged and cited with kidnapping, strangulation, false imprisonment, and terroristic threats.
