CUSTER COUNTY— The weather wasn’t perfect, but the reason for hosting the fun run/walk fundraiser was perfect. Karly Boje, who organized the Nebraska Flood Relief Fun Run, had over 40 people pre-register and eventually saw over 70 people take part in the race on the cold and snowy day on Saturday, April 13.

While it may not have been the best weather, those who raced and donated were able to raise nearly $4,000 in funds that were given to the Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Fund. According to the flyer from Boje, the disaster fund was designed to give 100% of the donations to Nebraska farmers, ranchers, and local communities.

In a previous interview, Boje talked about the importance of the disaster fund and said, “I just think that this is a wonderful cause and all of Nebraska can use some help.”

If you would like to donate through the Nebraska Farm Bureau, go to nefb.org, The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization and any donations made to the fund are tax-deductible.
