Mullen Volleyball Season Ends at State Tournament

The Mullen Lady Broncos were defeated by top seed Ewing in the opening round of the Class D2 state volleyball tournament. Ewing won in straight sets 25-17, 25-16, 25-20. Ewing was led by Bailey Schindler who finished with 18 kills and Miranda Summers had 27 set assists as Ewing advances into the semifinals. Samantha Moore was the lead attacker for Mullen with 8 kills and Haley Jones had 14 set assists. The Lady Broncos end the season with a record of 17-13. Next up for Ewing will be Humphrey St. Francis who outlasted Red Cloud in five sets winning 15-11 in the fifth. The other D2 semifinal will feature Hyannis vs. Exeter-Milligan. Hyannis defeated Elwood 3 sets to 1 and Exeter-Milligan defeated Mead 3 sets to 2.

Class B: Omaha Duchesne vs. GI Northwest and Omaha Skutt vs. Elkhorn South

Class C2: Stanton vs. Hartington CC and Superior vs. Nebraska Christian
Class D1: BDS vs. Johnson-Brock and Blue Hill vs. Meridian
