Monroe Man Facing Felonies in Four Separate Cases

COLUMBUS - A Monroe man is in some hot water, as he prepares to be sentenced on 3 felony cases, and prepares for a hearing in another. Court records say Eleazer Oceguera Jr., 37, is going to be sentenced on January 19th in Platte County, in 3 different felony cases, to which he has pled guilty. Oeguera pled guilty to felony burglary and felony theft, after stealing from a business in Monroe, says court records. Court documents say, Oceguera also plead guilty to a felony domestic assault charge and resisting arrest, along with a felony theft case in which he stole a Chevrolet El Camino. Oceguera was also picked up this summer by Colfax County authorities for felony driving under revocation and felony operating a vehicle to avoid arrest, when he fled from police and crashed his vehicle. Oceguera is also facing a felony habitual criminal charge in the Colfax County case, which is scheduled for a hearing on December 20th. READ MORE ABOUT THE EL CAMINO THEFT BELOW: COLUMBUS, Neb. – A Monroe man is accused of two felonies after his girlfriend told authorities he stole a vehicle and burglarized a home. 37-year-old Eleazor Oceguera is charged with felony theft by unlawful taking (over $5,000) and burglary. According to court records, Oceguera’s girlfriend Amanda McCloskey told the Platte County Sheriffs Office about an assault he committed on her and that he committed other crimes. The affidavit says, she told PCSO that the two were involved in a home burglary in Columbus in mid-August where several items were taken from the home after he kicked down the back door and took a quick shower inside. The other incident dated back to November of 2016, when a man reported his maroon El Camino being stolen at the new Columbus High job site. The sheriffs office later found the vehicle in rural Monroe and located a cell phone from Oceguera, who is a friend of the car owner, inside the vehicle. The records say, the victim said there were several work tools inside, including a green harness. The affidavit says, McCloskey told the sheriffs office that Oceguera brought the El Camino, valued at over $6,200, to a residence they shared in Monroe and asked her if she wanted to go for a ride. The affidavit says he later parked the vehicle away from their property in rural Platte County. While serving a warrant on the home, deputies found a green harness inside Oceguera’ garage, according to court records. The PCSO says in the documents that when confronted with evidence, Oceguera said he stole the El Camino. Both of Ocerguera’s cases have already been sent to district court. If convicted on both felony counts, Oceguera faces a max of 40 years in prison.
