WAYNE -- A man who was reported missing in South Dakota died east of Wayne on Thursday. According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, 22 year-old, Parker Mitchell, was westbound on Highway 35 3 miles east of Wayne when his vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch, and overturned in a cornfield. Mitchell died at the scene. The crash was called in by a passerby.
The North Sioux City, South Dakota Police reported that Mitchell had been reported missing since Monday. Police say his last cell phone location was near Allen, Nebraska.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Wayne Fire Department, Providence Medical Center, and the Nebraska State Patrol. The accident remains under investigation.
