Mills County, Iowa, opens access to some flooded property
Mills County, Iowa residents in area B were granted access to their homes Sunday afternoon. A mandatory evacuation had been in effect following this month's flooding.

People were granted access Sunday to some of their flooded-out properties in Mills County, Iowa.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, Mills County authorities lifted the mandatory evacuation order for the unincorporated area from U.S. Highway 34 north to Bungee Avenue, and from 195th on the west to the Loess Hills on the east.

Residents needing help from volunteers are asked to call the county’s flood hotline at 712-520-4000.
