Milligan Community Shows Up in Support of Rylee Baller

MILLIGAN - It seemed that all of Milligan showed up in support for one-year-old Rylee Baller. Saturday's benefit helped in raising funds for the Baller family to help in covering medical expenses. Rylee's mother Shamree Baller tells News Channel Nebraska, "Honestly seeing the support here today is more than any amount of money." Rylee was diagnosed in January with a rare form of childhood lung cancer. Since then, the Baller family has been fighting her battle with her. Children’s Hospital out of Omaha has teamed up with Children’s Hospitals in other states in order to help the Baller family seek the best treatment plan for Rylee. Shamree says, "She's been through two surgeries, she's got her chemotherapy port and she's been through six months of chemotherapy. So she ended four weeks ago and doing really good now." Rylee was in good spirits on Saturday. She was surrounded by family members, friends and a community ready to support. Her parents say, for her age, she's taken on her illness the best way she knows how to. "Going to her hospital visits are fun for her. She knows she gets bubbles and stickers, suckers and all kinds of treats. She's doing really good."
