Man Wins SUV After Hole-in-One at Elk’s CC

COLUMBUS - Randy Smeal, won more than your average tournament golfer, after striking a hole-in-one on #4 at the Elk's Country Club. Smeal, of Omaha, came to Columbus, with his wife on Wednesday to accept his new 2018 GMC Acadia. Smeal won the vehicle after hitting a hole-in-one during the Columbus Community Hospital's 16th Annual Golf Tournament. "You're just kind of a little skeptical, and want to make sure. So it takes a little bit for it to really, kind of soak in. My playing partner, Dr. Vande Gutche, was the one that said 'hey, you won a car, you won a car! I processed it for awhile, but yeah it's exciting," said Smeal. Ernst Dealer Principal John Ernst says this is the third time they've been able to give-a-way a vehicle, but the first time as a result of a golfing prize. "You know, you hope that someone gets a hole-in-one. We've partnered with the hospital since 2010, and you're always hoping someone get's a hole-in-one and wins a car, and this year they did," says Ernst. This was Smeal's 3rd hole-in-one,  and it was the 5th Hole-in-One made at Elk's Country Club at that point in the summer. Smeal shared that the hospital and civic leaders of Columbus do a great job of supporting each other, making it a joy whenever he visits the city.
