ST. EDWARD, Neb. - A house fire in rural St. Edward killed a man in Boone County last Friday.
According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, the St. Edward Fire Department responded to a fire around 5:30 a.m. Friday and found a 39-year-old man unresponsive in a basement.
He was taken to an Albion hospital where he passed away.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the basement in the rural St. Edward home and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The name of the man has yet to be released.
