COLUMBUS, NE — A man is dead after being hit by a train.
At 12:03 p.m. Columbus Police received a call that there was a body lying near the railroad tracks at 23rd Avenue, near Miceks bar.
When police arrived on scene they said due to his injuries it appeared the man had been hit by a train.
The mans name is not being released until a positive identification is made and family is notified.
Police say they believe this was an accident and foul play isn't a factor.
An autopsy will be conducted on Sunday.
