Man, Woman Charged with Causing Child to Inhale Meth

PLATTE CENTER - A Platte Center man and woman are charged with causing a 4-year-old to inhale meth, and committing child abuse. Court records say Derrick Brugman, 28, of Platte Center, and Charisma Vodehnal, 35, of Platte Center, allegedly caused a 4-year-old child to inhale meth in August of this year. Court records say Brugman and Vodehnal also allegedly committed child abuse, involving a 4-year-old and 12-year-old. Court documents say Brugman and Vodehnal are facing charges for causing a child to inhale meth, a class 1 misdemeanor, and committing child abuse, a class 3a felony. A first appearance is scheduled for Wednesday in Platte County Court.
