Man Arrested With Ambien Pills at Jail

COLUMBUS - A man was arrested and taken to jail for a warrant in a meth case, when police found him holding a bag of Ambien pills. Eli Reed, 31, was found guilty of possessing meth, back in 2014, and is facing a new controlled substance charge after his recent arrest, says court records. Police say Reed was arrested for an active bench warrant, in the meth case, on Monday, and was taken to the Platte County Jail, states the affidavit. During a search of Reed's person, at the jail, police found he was holding a plastic baggy, holding several pills of Ambien, says the affidavit. Police say because the pills are a schedule IV prescription drug, Reed was jailed for possession of a controlled substance, according to the affidavit. Reed is due in court for a felony first appearance on December 13th.
