Man Arrested Over Weekend After Half-Hour Police Chase

COLUMBUS, Neb. - Columbus Police were forced to use spike strips to slow a vehicle down after an apparently intoxicated man refused to stop for authorities, according to police. Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says just after 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, 33-year-old Jorge Delgado-Jimenez attempted to flee police after they tried to stop him around 18th Ave. and 23rd St. The chase last over 30 minutes before spike strips were used around on the 600 block of 23rd Ave. at 3:50 a.m., according to Thalken. Delgado-Jimenez was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, 3rd DUI, driving under revocation and willful reckless driving.
