Man Arrested in Columbus with Weapons, $1,350 in Pot

COLUMBUS - Columbus Police arrested a man who allegedly sold $1350 in pot to an informant and had multiple weapons in his vehicle. CPD say in an affidavit that Brandon Day, 22, came to Columbus in a  pickup hauling a camper in the early morning hours of December 30th, and sold an informant $1,350 worth of marijuana. The total amount of marijuana measured 12.45 ounces, say police. CPD say they later conducted a traffic stop of Day's vehicle, and found a black forty caliber glock handgun in his center console, and a 5-inch black hunting knife in his driver-side door. Day texted the informant before meeting him in Columbus, "The less people know that I'm packing the better I don't need to kill a n**** for trying to rob me, or a snitch," says the affidavit. Police also say they found a vaporizer with a substance that tested positive for THC. Day is being charged with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of THC, and possession of a concealed weapon, according to court records. A felony first appearance is scheduled for January 10th in Platte County Court.
