Man Arrested for Strangulation in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Neb. - A Columbus man was jailed Sunday night on suspicion of strangulation. A 39-year-man, who Columbus Police would not identify at this time, was arrested sometime after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in Columbus apartment buildings. CPD Captain Todd Thalken says that he tried to choke his girlfriend and injured her while doing so. He is accused of strangulation, a felony, along with 3rd-degree assault and criminal mischief, which are misdemeanors.
