Longtime Callaway Doctor Ronald Sheppard Retires After 47 Years

CALLAWAY—Dr. Ronald Sheppard has begun his retirement years after serving patients of the Callaway District Hospital and Medical Clinics for more than four decades.

Ronald Sheppard, M.D. practiced family medicine and according to a Facebook post from the Callaway District Hospital, Dr. Sheppard served the area for 47 years and played a big role in re-opening the hospital in 1974.

“We owe him a great deal of gratitude for his work on re-opening our hospital in 1974,” the post read.

Dr. Sheppard’s retirement was effective June 28 with hospital staff presenting him with an outdoor sign and retirement celebration to commemorate the occasion.

The Callaway District Hospital continued to say, “We want to express our appreciation for the years of service and leadership that he has provided in patient care, and in maintaining and growing what is now a thriving practice. We also want to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated patients and friends for their continued support over the years.”

“Thank-you” Dr Sheppard for all that you have done for all of us here at the Medical Clinic and Hospital as well as the community. You are going to be greatly missed by so many. Enjoy your retirement years!!!”
