Local Seniors Make Christmas Ornaments to Benefit Santa Cop Program
Quality Senior Villages Activities Director Ashley Clay and Administrator Kent Shaw present check to Carol Allen and Julie Toline with the Salvation Army
BROKEN BOW—Residents at Quality Senior Villages got into the Christmas spirit this season. Activities Director Ashley Clay led the residents in making sleigh and wreath tree ornaments to be sold to family and friends. Administrator Kent Shaw said it was a good way to get the residents involved with their community. “We thought it would be a good idea to give back to the community in a way. So, Ashley and the residents made ornaments and we decided to try to raise some money. We sold them for $5 apiece,” Shaw said. A total of $330 was raised and then donated to the Salvation Army Santa Cop program. Carol Allen and Julie Toline with the Salvation Army accepted the donation to then purchase gifts for area children, with the help of local law enforcement officers. Quality Senior Villages specializes in memory care, Alzheimer’s support, and assisted living.
