On Tuesday, August 29th, Runza restaurants will conduct their 15th Annual "Great Books for Great Kids" fundraiser. The local Runza (709 S. E Street) has selected the Broken Bow Public Library as the recipient of this year's event. On Tuesday, August 29, 10% of the sales from the Broken Bow Runza will be given to the Broken Bow Public Library to help purchase materials for the renovated library. Last year, more than $35,000 was raised to benefit children in communities with Runza locations and the last fourteen years, more than $435,000 has been donated. Runza Restaurants has been a long-time supporter of reading. “Reading is vital to lifelong success and provides an excellent opportunity for families to spend time together,” stated Beck Perrett, Director of Marketing for Runza National. “Donating funds for books and promoting literacy is an important endeavor for children and the community.” Joyce Richardson said she and the Runza team are proud of their collaboration efforts in helping with Nebraska literacy programs. "We’re thrilled again this year to be working with Runza National to give 10% and that will be for dine-in, drive-through, or carry-out Tuesday, the 29th. And our 10% is going to be donated this year to the Broken Bow Library, to the Children’s Department. Runza has always felt very strongly about raising money for literacy, that’s a very important idea for Runza that they believe in literacy very strongly. And this is one way they can support that belief,” Richardson said. The Broken Bow Public library thanks Runza for being a passionate supporter of reading and recognizing that reading is vital to lifelong success. Plan to order from the local Runza on Easty Highway 2 on August 29th between 10:30am and 10pm.
