LBPHD: Monday, August 31 COVID-19 Update; Majority Of Recent Cases Community Spread

LBPHD: Seven new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the nine counties of Loup Basin’s district since Friday.

The cases were reported from:
Custer (4) – community spread
Howard (2) – community spread
Loup (1) – contact with a known positive

All known close contacts have been asked to quarantine.

A majority of the cases recently reported have been due to community spread, meaning the person who is ill does not have a known exposure with someone who previously tested positive. People who have tested positive and determined to be from community spread have attended gatherings within and outside of the district. As a reminder, when you are unable to social distance in a group setting you should wear a mask to help protect yourself from exposure.

Ten new recoveries have been reported since Friday. The new recoveries were reported in Custer (4), Howard (3), Valley (2), and Loup (1) counties.
