LBPHD announcement: On Wednesday’s update there was a discussion about the minimal number of negative tests reported from Monday to Wednesday. LBPHD pulls the data for this reporting from a statewide database that has limitations on providers reporting their data as well as occasional glitches in data not flowing down to LBPHD for reporting.
The majority of the testing that occurs within our district is through rapid testing at hospitals, in which only the positive cases are directly reported to the health department and the negatives go to DHHS to be entered into the database.
DHHS prioritizes entering positives so those cases can be contact traced and people isolated and quarantined. Therefore the number of negative tests can vary depending on DHHS ability to enter them into the system.
District Totals: Positives 651/ Recovered 504/ Deaths 14/ Negative Tests: 6174
