LBPHD Risk Dial

The dial has moved higher into the orange this week. The weekly percent positivity of tests decreased slightly this week and the number of cases being classified as community spread also decreased. Rapid test capacity is extremely limited, TestNebraska continues to have capacity but delayed turnaround time. The increase in the risk dial is mainly due to the increasing concerns with hospital capacity.

In Nebraska, we are seeing record number of people hospitalized, not only for COVID but other illnesses. Locally, LBPHD has more cases hospitalized than at any other point thus far in the pandemic response. Other factors that figure into the risk dial calculation include healthcare capacity, and the ability to conduct contact tracing efficiently.
