LBPHD COVID-19 Update: 25 New Cases, 11 Recoveries; Avg. Age Of Pos. Cases In District Now 50

LBPHD: Twenty-five new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the nine counties of Loup Basin’s district since Friday.

The cases were reported from:
Custer (13) – community spread (5), contact with known positive (7), travel-related (1)
Greeley (4) – community spread (1), contact with known positive (3)
Howard (3) – community spread (2), travel-related (1)
Sherman (1)- community spread (1)
Loup (1)- community spread (1)
Valley (1)- community spread (1)
Garfield (1)- community spread (1)
Wheeler (1)- community spread (1)

All known close contacts have been asked to quarantine.

Eleven new recoveries have been reported in Custer (4), Howard (3), Valley (2), Loup (1), and Wheeler (1) counites

Through contact tracing interviews, 52% of the cases in October have been unable to identify the source of their exposure. Many of those individuals have reported attending large gatherings such as weddings, church, birthday parties, sporting events, etc.

The average age of cases in the district was in the 70s early in the pandemic. Currently, the average age of positive cases is 50.
