KWBE Celebrates Paul Hay’s Retirement with Reunion During Beatrice Today

BEATRICE - KWBE's Dave Niedfeldt brought soon-to-be retired Paul Hay onto Beatrice Today and threw several surprises at him. The Gage County Extension Agent Chairman put in over 40 years of service in the community and Niedfeldt wanted to give him a proper send off after all he has done for KWBE. Hay recalled some memories and moments throughout his career during the program. "One of our 4-H leaders, at one time, said something that kind of stuck with me the whole time. That is that 4-H is about little successes that add up to big successes in life." Former and current co-workers came in to wish Hay farewell, including: Gage County Horticulture Educator, Nicole Stoner; 4-H Program Assistant, Jane Esau; retired UNL Extension Professor, Larry Schultz; and former Extension Educator, Kay McKenzie. There will be an open house for Hay on October 2nd, from 3-6 p.m., at the Gage County Extension Office.
