Juvenile Justice Center Awaits City Council Vote

A yes vote for (the juvenile justice center) is a vote for a large, unnecessary property tax increase to fund a private, no-bid construction scheme.

- Jim Cavanaugh, Douglas County Commissioner

Omaha, NE.—The future of the controversial 114 million dollar juvenile justice center and county courthouse annex is now in the hands of the Omaha City Council.

The council could vote as early as next week following a nearly 3-hour—and at times contentious— public hearing today (Tuesday).
