CUSTER COUNTY--Rickey G. McAlevy Jr., 30, currently faces four felony charges following an alleged November 17 incident: kidnapping (class IA), first degree domestic assault (class IIA), terroristic threats (class IIIA), and third degree domestic assault second offense (class IIIA). The Broken Bow man pled not guilty to all four counts. A jury trial was scheduled for February 12.
Also in Thursday's District Court session, Stephen C. Thomas, 30 of Broken Bow, pled no contest to DUI third offense, a class IIIA felony aggravated. A presentence investigation was ordered and Thomas will appear for sentencing on February 1.
Broken Bow resident Marshall Marshall, 35, pled not guilty to count one possession of a firearm by a prohibited person for an alleged December 2016 incident. Marshall also denied allegations made by the state, alleging Marshall to be a habitual criminal. A jury trial was scheduled for February 12.
Amy F. Lytle of Broken Bow was appointed an attorney for a motion filed by the state to revoke probation. She will appear back in court on January 4.
Jeffrey P. Scott, 51, did not appear in court and his case was continued to January 4.
Merriman resident Jesse L. Hare, 35, was sentenced for DUI fourth offense, a class IIIA felony. Judge Noakes ordered Hare to serve 90 days in the county jail (credit for one day served) and four years of probation, including license revocation.
Sargent resident Keile S. Jones, 28, pled no contest as part of a plea agreement. Jones faces charges of a DUI causing serious bodily injury to another person and unborn child, a class IIIA felony. Deputy County Attorney Kayla Clark stated that Jones was involved in a two-vehicle accident in August 2015 east of Broken Bow in which the driver of the other vehicle, who was pregnant at the time, experienced injuries including various bone fractures. Judge Noakes ordered a presentence investigation and chemical dependency evaluation. Sentencing is scheduled to take place on February 1.
