Judge Sets $750,000 Bond For Nebraska City Preacher

NEBRASKA CITY – Deputy Otoe County Attorney John Palmtag asked an Otoe County judge Monday morning for a $1 million bond for a Nebraska City preacher charged with sexual assault of a child. Larry Mullins, 69, appeared in court with a cane and told Judge John Steinheider that he has doctor’s appointments ahead that are crucial to  his health and well being. The judge said he believes Mullins regarding the health issues, but said the allegations in the charges are a primary factor in setting bond. He set a $750,000 bond with a 10 percent provision and ordered Mullins to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18. [caption id="attachment_1479799" align="alignright" width="112"] Mullins[/caption] Palmtag said he is not aware of an past criminal history, but said the state is alleging criminal acts occurring over a number of years, beginning when the alleged victim was six or seven years old. The judge set a May 21 preliminary hearing in Otoe County Court to determine if the state has enough evidence to show probable cause that a crime has been committed.
