ARNOLD—There’s a new bar in town–after having officially opened in October 2017, Jake’s Horses and Harleys Grille continues the celebration and held a ribbon cutting on Friday. The Arnold Economic Development Corporation hosted the celebration of the newly remodeled space.

Jake’s Horses and Harleys Grille is located in the space previously known as Suzy’s Pizza. Jake’s owner Julie Jacobson said she closed for about one month in order to remodel the kitchen and countertops, purchase a new fryer and freezers, paint, redecorate, and change up the menu.

“We went more with a steakhouse-type menu. It’s not the typical bar food. I mean, we do have the bar food but we also have steaks and salmon and things like that,” Jacobsen said.

Jacobson said there are plans for a beer garden in the back of the restaurant and plans to host celebrations during the Sandhills Open Road Challenge in August.

District #36 Senator Matt Williams and Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley attended the ribbon cutting and received a tour of the family-friendly facility.

The décor features a bright orange pool table and Harley decorations, as well as family brands that had been at the establishment years prior. Jacobsen has been in the food service business for 35 years and says she always wanted to “flip burgers for a living!” She has a passion for serving and cooking and appreciates the kindness and support shown by the community.

“The community has been great to us,” Jacobson said. “It’s very nice and I appreciate the town of Arnold doing this for us.”
