Jackknifed Semi Removed, Hwy 81 Travel Still Not Recommended

PLATTE COUNTY - Local sheriff and state patrol officials say a jackknifed semi has been removed from Highway 81, but still recommend motorists avoid driving on it. Nebraska State Patrol Trooper Trinity Jones says his troopers are having a difficult time navigating north of the Highway 22 junction on Highway 81, because of the sever conditions. The Platte County Sheriff's Office says the roads are passable, with the semi removed, but say there are areas of whiteout conditions and loose snow that are making travel dangerous. The sheriff's office asks travelers to use extreme caution, but urges residents to stay indoors.
