Investigation Into Osmond Store Fire Has Ended

OSMOND, NE -- The investigation into a fire that destroyed a three-story grocery store in Osmond, NE has ended. The Nebraska state fire marshal determined the cause of the fire at the Tiger Town Store and Flower shop to be unknown. It took crews from six different fire departments to battle the blaze on July 9, but fire officials say there was nothing that could have been done to save it. The fire marshal believes while the fire at the downtown landmark was accidental in nature, the cause is undetermined. The fire destroyed what had been a town staple. Owned by town mayor James Bessmer, Tiger Town was where most residents got their groceries. There was no one in the building at the time of the fire. Residents now have to travel to either Randolph or Plainview to buy groceries.
